The Stitch workflow

Your camera roll has a story in it.

The everyday detail, the walk to a viewpoint and the moment between planned shots can be the material that makes a video feel like yours.

Choose one reason for the edit

Before selecting every clip from the day, name what the video is about. It might be the arrival, a shared meal or a single walk. A narrow purpose makes it easier to choose an opening and leave out material that belongs in another film.

Separate a meaningful moment from a technically tidy one. A phone clip can connect a landscape to the people who were there. That does not require a complicated effect or a dramatic transition.

Match the frame to the destination

Check whether you filmed in portrait or landscape and whether the destination needs a different shape. When mixing both, decide which shot deserves the full frame rather than forcing every image to fill it automatically.

Keep important text, faces and gestures away from a crop boundary. A geometric calculator can show the retained area, but you still need to inspect the full movement.

Check the actual file, not only its thumbnail

Some recordings are stored in a cloud photo library and need downloading before another editor can access the original. Some phone formats also require an appropriate decoder or colour workflow.

Play a short representative file before committing a large project. Keep the original even if you make a more compatible copy. Renaming an extension is not a conversion and does not change its codec.

A browser workflow, with clear availability

The current Stitch web entry opens the existing application. Native Android is in development. This site does not offer an iPhone app download or imply an App Store listing is live.

When evaluating an editor, compare the work required to finish your own footage: importing it, correcting choices, framing the result and checking the export. A feature list alone does not tell you how the experience will feel.
